Etive Boat Trips

Well we’ve ended this week with some overdue warm summer sunshine and gentle breezes. Saw a sea otter today and some porpoise out past Kerrera, chasing the mackerel! Here’s the schedule so far for next week, subject to change .

Monday 26th: Half day Loch Etive – 10am – TRIP FULL
Tuesday 27th: Around Lismore – 10am departure.
Wednesday 28th: Around Kerrera – 10am start.
Thursday 29th:  Provisional Around Kerrera or Lismore – 10am.
Friday 30th:  Trips to be confirmed due to current weather forecast.
Saturday 31st: Private Charter: Sorry no trips today
Sunday 1st:  Trips to be confirmed due to current weather forecast.

We have been shower dodging again last week however it was all worth it with some fantastic sightings of Osprey, white tailed eagles and seals all up Loch Etive. Here’s an idea of our availability for next week.

Weather was certainly a feature last week….but in the main it turned out better than the forecast, and we had some good trips with lots of wildlife. The exception was Friday, which was just to wet to be any fun!! Here is a rough guide to what we have next week – lots of availability mid week. Remember we just need 4 to go on a trip, and if you are less than 4 we will try to find others to join you 🙂

No complaints about the weather this week! A very busy few days with lots of trips and lots of wildlife, seals, osprey and white tailed eagles.

Despite our typical Scottish summer weather we did get out and about this week. Saw seals at the Creags and lots of birds on the way. Here is what is scheduled for this week. Give us a call or message us to book.

After an exciting few weeks surveying basking sharks around the waters of Tiree, we are back at Dunstaffnage Marina and available for our regular wildlife and scenic trips. The weather forecast is a bit mixed this week but here is a outline of what we are planning – give us a call or email to book.

The second week of the basking shark surveying meant some early starts, 4am on one day from Tobermory, and long days for everyone. However they have been rewarded with some great wildlife sightings, this fabulous picture below was taken by one of the team from the boat, and today Etive Explorer was escorted back to Mull by a pod of bottlenose dolphins.

Our regular trips will start again next week from Tuesday 23rd July.

The Etive Explorer and Chris are one week into their basking shark adventure! Based on Mull and sailing out each day with another local boat, Bold Ranger, to survey and film basking sharks with researchers from the University of Exeter and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution – all the way from Massachusetts, USA.  More updates on facebook.

Our Creag Islands trip was definitely the most popular last week, with several trips out to see the seals. We are having a short break from our regular trips over the next two weeks, as the Etive Explorer is off to Mull to work as a supply boat for a basking shark survey…..very exciting!
